Meet Caroline

Growing up in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, I spent my time playing in the forest.

My favorite thing about walking through the woods is feeling held by the trees from above and below. Looking up at the canopy I see a backlit web of branches, creating a living pattern of sunlight and shadow that dances on the forest floor. Less visible, but equally present, I feel the vast network of roots holding the earth together beneath my feet.

That sense of feeling held in connection serves as inspiration for my therapeutic approach. Like all living beings, we thrive through connection with both ourselves and others. Rather than prescribing what is right or wrong for your life, I will support you in strengthening your ability to connect with your inner self as a guiding force.

In our work together, we'll explore your relationships, understand patterns that may keep you feeling stuck, and examine the broader systems that shape your experience. You can expect me to listen with compassion, offer reflections that enhance self-understanding, and gently challenge perspectives to support your growth. Together, we create a space where both insight and transformation can flourish.

Education & Experience

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Philosophy from Virginia Tech. Before continuing my education in mental health, I spent time working with underserved youth as an early childhood educator. In my free time I enjoy making art and love bringing creativity and play into my work with people of all ages. I integrate my 15+ years of trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness training into my therapeutic approach, helping clients build practical emotional regulation skills while fostering a deeper connection with their bodies.

I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University. My internship and residency experiences deepened my understanding of trauma-informed care for children, teens, and adults. I hold an active license as a Professional Counselor in Virginia (0701010535) and am a VA Board approved clinical supervisor. Through this blend of academic training and real-world experience, I’ve developed a deep commitment to providing accessible trauma-informed care that prioritizes compassionate presence and clinical expertise.
